Exhibit

  • My final project at the Bentley Library was the research and creation of a web exhibit dedicated to the Women of Michigan. In addition to expanding my web programing skills, the creation of this site necessitated working with Adobe Photoshop software and FileMaker Pro databases.

  • I was also able to launch a corresponding physical exhibit, which was on display for the Michigan Archival Association annual meeting in June 2007.

Research and Writing

  • Under the name chsprojectarchivist, I have been contributing to the CHS Library blog for the past few months. Two of my favorite entries are Bald? Try Onions! and Calico Printing.

  • My two most recent paper topics for courses at Trinity College have been fallout shelters and Hartford's Cedar Hill Cemetery.

  • During the Fall 2006 semester at Michigan I wrote two research papers, both focusing on Russian-Jewish immigrant anarchist women. The introduction to one of the papers is available as a PDF. Most of my research was done using the Labadie Collection at U-M's Special Collections Library.

  • Eliza Read Sunderland and her views on education were the topic of a Winter 2007 paper. My primary resources are from Mrs. Sunderland's papers, held by the Bentley Historical Library.
